TRAVELS: #ITALIANTRIP17 - ROME

Aqui está o segundo post da nossa viagem, desta vez em Roma.

As expectativa eram altas e facilmente foram superadas. Foram só dois dias, não me importava nada que tivessem sido mais dois, e eram bem precisos, para conseguir ver tudo nas calmas. Roma tem tanto para ver que eu sinto que só vimos para aí 1/5 ou menos do que há de interessante para ser visto. É, com certeza, uma cidade que quero mesmo ir outra vez (eu digo sempre isto xD), mas da lista das cidades que já conheço e quero voltar a ir, Roma permanece no topo da lista.

Here is the second post from our trip, this time in Rome.

Expectations were high and easily surpassed. It was only two days, but it could had been two more, once they were very needed to be able to see everything more calmly. Rome has so much to see that I feel we've only seen 1/5 or less of what's interesting to know. It is certainly a city that I really want to go again (I always say that xD), but from the list of cities I already know and want to go again, Rome remains at the top of the list.

Day 1

No primeiro dia chegamos ao início da tarde, então basicamente fomos passear pela zona do hotel que era ao lado do Coliseu - que foi bastante bom porque assim estávamos relativamente perto de tudo - comer um gelado e explorar alguns dos monumentos que haviam por essa zona, como o Palácio Vitoriano (Monumento Nacional a Vítor Emanuel II), os vários Fóruns que por ali há, de Trajano, de Nerva, de Augusto, de César, entre outros, passando pela Praça de Veneza e o respetivo Palácio. Tudo em Roma transpira história e acho que é por isso que é uma cidade tão apaixonante, adoro cidades assim e esta não foi exceção.

Não tirei fotos de todos os locais por onde passámos, porque se não ia conhecer Roma através de uma lente, tudo é material para fotografia, e se tivesse que tirar fotos a tudo não

íamos desfrutar da cidade.

Acabamos o dia a jantar no restaurante Angelino "ai Fiori", que era muito bom, mas o que não falta são restaurantes bons e com bom aspeto em Roma.

On the first day we arrived in the early afternoon so basically we stroll around the area of the hotel that was next to the Colosseum - which was pretty good because that way we were relatively close to everything - went to eat an ice cream and explore some of the monuments we had around that area, such as the Vittoriano Palace (National Monument of Victor Emmanuel II), the various Forums that are there, of Trajan, of Nerva, of Augusto, of Caesar, among others, passing through the Venice Square and the respective Palace. Everything in Rome transpires history and I think that's why it's such a passionate city, I love cities like this and this one was no exception.

I did'nt take photos of all the places we went to, because that way I would know Rome through a lens, since everything is photography material, and if I had to take pictures of everything we wouldn't enjoy the city as much as we wanted.

We finished the day having dinner at the Angelino "ai Fiori" restaurant which was very good, but what isn't lacking in Rome is good restaurants with a great atmosphere.

Day 2

No segundo dia fomos comer um brunch a um café que queríamos experimentar porque pelas fotos tinha um aspeto delicioso e saudável, o Ginger Sapori e Salute e comprovou ser muito bom. Depois a caminho da Fonte de Trevi passamos pelo Panteão, que estava cheio de gente em consonância com a Fonte que estava super lotada, quase nem tínhamos espaço para mandar a moedinha xD, também era Agosto, só podia ser este o resultado, por isso aconselho a irem bem cedinho se tiverem essa oportunidade, que assim é da maneira que não há tanta gente. Decidimos, então, depois passar pela cidade do Vaticano, da qual não conseguimos visitar a Basílica de S. Pedro, porque a fila era interminável, local este que me arrependo de não ter ido bem cedo (tipo 6/7 da manhã). Depois de passearmos pela cidade, voltamos para o Coliseu porque como o Calais adora saber todas as histórias queria visitar o Coliseu por dentro com um guia, a visita incluía o Fórum Romano, que é mesmo ao lado do coliseu, mas este já estava fechado - para nossa tristeza.

Mais tarde fomos dar mais uma volta pelas ruas da cidade que são tão giras e voltar à Fonte de Trevi, desta vez à noite na esperança que estivesse mais vazio, pois bem que estavam ainda mais pessoas do que de dia. No dia seguinte apanhamos o avião para Nápoles para continuar a nossa aventura ...

On the second day we ate a brunch at a cafe that we wanted to try because the photos had a delicious and healthy look, the Ginger Sapori and Salute and proved to be very good. Then on the way to the Trevi Fountain we passed by the Pantheon, which was full of people in line with the Fountain that was also super crowded, we hardly had space to send the coin to the water of the Fountain xD, I know it was August, this could only be the result, so I advise you to go very early if you have the opportunity, which is the way that there are not so many people. We then decided to go through the Vatican City, from which we couldn't visit St. Peter's Basilica, because the line was endless, a place that I regret not going way more earlier (like 6/7am). After walking through the city, we returned to the Colosseum because as Calais loves to know all the stories he wanted to visit inside the Colosseum with a guide, the visit included the Roman Forum, which is right next to the Colosseum but this was already closed - for our sorrow.

Then we went for a few more walks around the city streets which are so beautiful and went back to the Trevi Fountain, this time at night hoping it would be more empty, but there were even more people than during the day. The next day we went to Naples to continue our adventure ...
